Los Altos Master Plans

Our 10-year master plan for the Los Altos School District, one of the best in the state, was both smart and simple: Give high-performance schools systems that provide daylight and fresh air. Our approach to sustainability is to bring in low-tech solutions that won’t break or require technical knowledge, and will work for decades to come. We have an ingenious automatic system that opens the clerestory windows before it gets stuffy, while also allowing in natural daylight. The absolute goal is to stay comfortable—and keep on the mission of teaching kids.
