Does the Getty Center speak to the future of art?

This article marks the third time the Getty Center, the premier art museum in Los Angeles, has appeared in the pages of this magazine. The first occasion was a cover story in the December 1997 issue that coincided with the museum’s opening. The second was a ‘Critic at Large’ piece in October 1998.
