Exciting happenings at Gelfand Partners

In the midst of all the problems in the world today, we are pleased to announce some exciting happenings in our own small world.

First I would like to thank my partners Jim Fagler and Tobin Kendrick for all they have brought to Gelfand Partners, and to wish them well in retirement. In only a few years they might be old enough to run for president!

Mary Ruppenthal, our once and future star, is rejoining us as a Principal with a focus on K-14 projects. We welcome her to our wonderful education world. It’s a great time to focus on just what makes a campus work best – indoor outdoor continuity, healthy classrooms, daylight. In the last 15 years Mary has been advancing our shared purpose of meaningful, sustainable and high performance architecture and is now back home with Gelfand Partners..

And we would like to congratulate Patty Haight and Katie Larson on promotion to Associate. Patty has made a big difference in her Construction Administration role and she looks forward to helping develop a more active and deliberate professional development program for our office. Katie has led the way into new graphic standards both for marketing and for client communication, and has really raised the level of our interiors practice.

We want to celebrate all these changes, and normally we would have a nice big party, This year we would like to honor our friends in another way. Gelfand Partners will donate to each of the following groups, and we would like to invite you to join us in honoring our colleagues by supporting their goals, in whatever way you can:

Jim: San Francisco Safehouse

Tobin: Glide

Mary: California Coalition for Youth

Katie: Five Keys Home Free

Patty: Headwaters Science Institute

I hope you’ll join us in what feels like a special opportunity, not only to celebrate the achievements of the past, but look forward to all that we will accomplish together as time goes on.

Thanks,

Lisa Gelfand
