PUSH Dance Company: The Sanctuary

Raissa Simpson, founder of PUSH Dance Company, had a clear vision for the space that would house her company at 447 Minna: to “provide students & artists from historically oppressed backgrounds a space for refuge and restorative dance practices”, that is, a BIPOC Sanctuary. Our team, worked closely with PUSH and CAST, the owner of the building, to design a place the company could call home, a place for healing, a place to express oneself through music, dance and community gathering.

The studio opened its doors beginning of 2023 and has welcomed a number of residents already, so we couldn’t be any happier to have been a part of its Grand Opening on October, 15th! Make sure to check out the amazing work their talented artists do on PUSH’s social media accounts.
